Each year, the TONI&GUY look book reflects the elements that are the foundation to TONI&GUY’s success: hair, fashion, heritage and education.
DUALITY has been created with a sense of creative freedom and individuality in mind for the latest collection. The aim is to give a fresh and open-minded outlook on how TONI&GUY cut and colour hair.
We have put together a triptych of sectioning patterns that allows us to create a collection of looks which vary in strength, texture and shape and all with a trend-driven colour palette. These sections work by allowing different techniques to be used within the same set of sectioning patterns and we have demonstrated how they will allow us to gain contrast in the results.
The emerging trend is about working with accents of colour, versus internal softness within a technique. Boldness and partial lightener applications create editorial-inspired colours whilst colour-strobing and perimeter drifting are used to create alternative results.
Our styling triptych consists of TONI&GUY creative favourites, including: The Halo, The Angle and The Curve. For colour, we’re introducing The Crescent, The Angle and The Panelling.
There’s been a huge focus towards individuality within fashion as well as a fast shift in trends as seen during the fashion season from designers such as: House of Holland and Alexander Wang which have been inspiration for DUALITY.
October 2012 sees the launch of the NEW label.m campaign collection 2012-2013.
Inspired by the catwalk trends from London Fashion Week and created by the experts from the International Artistic Team, the label.m campaign collection is both fashion forward and edge driven.
Utilising the whole label.m Professional Haircare range to create each of the 15 unique looks, the label.m team have infused each style with individuality and creativity.
TONI&GUY Malta has announced the opening of Malta’s first Essensuals salon in Gzira. Essensuals, the next generation of award-winning salons from the renowned TONI&GUY empire, aims to provide its image-conscious clients with all of life’s essentials; the essensuals brand is dedicated to transforming catwalk-inspired trends into wearable and desirable styles to suit a client’s personality and lifestyle.
Almost 17 years after the first TONI&GUY salon opened its doors in Malta the franchise’s original outlet in Gzira has been completely transformed into the new state-of-the-art essensuals salon. Refurbished to the exacting standards and specifications of TONI&GUY, the salon provides clients with a truly exhilarating experience, featuring shampooing chairs with in-built massage capabilities and cutting and styling seating specifically chosen for elegance, ease of maintenance, and comfort.
In 1974, Gordon Mayo, now Chairman and CEO of TONI&GUY Malta, walked into a hairdressing salon in London and saw a book by the renowned stylists of TONI&GUY. From that moment on, he has been inspired by their vision, overseeing the growth of TONI&GUY Malta which has mirrored the phenomenal success of the international brand. The first European franchise of the company was opened in Germany in 1990 by Nico Puglia, who suggested to Mayo that he approach Toni Mascolo and his brother Anthony (the artistic director of the TONI&GUY academy) with the proposal to open a franchise in Malta. “I did exactly that”, explains Mayo, “and the idea was finally approved. This was 1991 and it took me a good three years to get the franchise up and running and finally, the Gzira salon was launched in June 1994.”
Mayo has maintained a brilliant relationship with the Mascolo brothers ever since, during which TONI&GUY Malta has seen the launch of new salons at Hilton Portomaso, Paceville, the Plaza, Sliema, and Arkadia in Gozo.
Mayo sees the refurbishment of the original Gzira salon as merely the first step in even further expansion and is especially excited about the opportunity to open the first salon in Malta to boast the essensuals brand. “I would love to see many more salons here in Malta taking on TONI&GUY brands”, Mayo elaborates.
