Malta Fashion Week opened Monday with a bang thanks to all especially the whole TONI & GUY Art Team. Toni&Guy are proud sponsors of Malta Fashion Week.

As #LFW approaches, excitement is steadily mounting here at TONI&GUY HQ as we get ready to celebrate our big milestone.

For a 20th season the TONI&GUY Session Team will be heading backstage to create the latest trends for an impressive 30 shows, including: Giles, Jean-Pierre Braganza, Tata Naka and PPQ.
We’re also bringing back the ever-popular TONI&GUY Blow Out Bar situated on-site at Somerset House. Our talented team will be tending to the tresses of VIPs using products from label.m, its professional haircare range. Products will also be used backstage and be included in FROW goody bags. This season will see over 200 cans of label.m Hairspray, Volume Mousse, and Resurrection Style Dust used, as well as 150 tubes of label.m Extra Strong Gel.

London Fashion Week 2013 saw TONI&GUY as the Official Sponsor for the 17th season, and also celebrated 10 seasons working with British design sensation Giles Deacon. For the past decade TONI&GUY have created catwalk hairstyles from London to Paris.

Each season Giles showcases a new collection with an army of inspirations- our favourites including gothic disco, dinosaurs and Jacobean house-fires. Each with Giles’ signature twist of taking something unusual and creating an almost-overwhelming beauty.

The hair created for the shows has always worked in collaboration with Giles’ collections- styling everything from sleek fishtail braids, oversized beehives and disco wefts. For Giles’ SS10 show, pastel panels were created for the women, which paved the way for pastel washes and ombre trends for that summer and beyond.

I truly love the relationship I have with TONI&GUY, we’ve done some great work over the last 10 seasons and I’m hoping it’s going to continue for many more- Giles Deacon.

London Fashion Week is one of the world’s leading designer showcases alongside New York, Paris and Milan. With over 5,000 visitors, the audience is made up of UK and International press, buyers and industry professionals including key opinion formers. Last season London Fashion Week generated over 100 million pounds worth of press coverage in the UK alone.

The Exhibition at LFW, based at Somerset House, showcases around 170 of the industry’s most creative UK and International designer businesses including both emerging and established accessories, jewellery and ready-to-wear labels. The BFC aims for The Exhibition to mirror the energy on the catwalk and presentation schedule.

Estethica is the BFC’s sustainable initiative sponsored by Monsoon. All potential Estethica designers must adhere to at least one of the three principles of fair-trade and ethical practices, organic and recycled materials and are selected for both their ethical credentials and design excellence. Estethica is the hub of London’s ethical fashion industry and recognised internationally as a leading showcase of ethical fashion.

The BFC NEWGEN scheme, currently sponsored by TOPSHOP was set up in 1993 with the mission of supporting the growth of original new collections which have the potential to make a mark on the international scene. Designers who have been in business for three years or less and are eligible to apply for the NEWGEN scheme and those selected will receive sponsorship and mentoring tailored to the scale and positioning of their products and businesses. Judging is undertaken voluntarily by a panel of Britain’s top editors, buyers and talent scouts who compare entrants against the standards of excellence attained by former winners including some of Britain’s highest profile designers including Alexander McQueen, Matthew Williamson, Julien Macdonald and more recently Giles Deacon, Gareth Pugh, Christopher Kane, Marios Schwab, Richard Nicoll and Todd Lynn. Sarah Mower is the BFC’s Abassador for Emerging Talent and is the chair of this committee.
